BOOTS FROM ITALY MADE IN VENETO COUNTY

Producing boots from Italy, the epitome of excellence in leatherwork, fur, and shoemaking

Established in 1268, the Shoe Guild of Venice marked the inception of what would become Europe's foremost center for the creation of exquisite designer footwear. Veneto County is not just a place where shoes are made; it's where the very concept of the shoe heel was innovated. Historical records even mention a 15th-century law, capping shoe heels at a height of 8-9 cm to prevent accidents — a testament to how seriously this craft is taken.

In Italy, shoes transcend the bounds of mere craftsmanship. They embody passion, encapsulate identity, and express love in every stitch and seam. These are the same ineffable qualities that we, at GÁBA, strive to weave into the very fabric of our products.

Sourced from the arctic expanses of Norway, our reindeer hides make a long journey to southern Italy, where they are tanned to perfection by some of the country's top furriers. Following this meticulous process, the hides are sent to a family-run workshop in the Veneto region. With generations of skillful craftsmanship to their name, these artisans hand-sew each GÁBA shoe, honoring both the tradition they come from and the cultural legacy we aim to preserve.

By combining Sámi tradition with Italian excellence, we ensure that every GÁBA product is not just a piece of footwear but a narrative — a story that celebrates the harmonious melding of two distinct yet equally rich cultural heritages.
